Christine “Chris” F. Youngquist, 72, of Galesburg, IL, formerly of Cameron, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL as the result of a tragic motor vehicle accident. She was born on May 1, 1952 in Galesburg, IL, the daughter of Edward and Maxine (Rendleman) Fritz. Chris was raised and educated in Galesburg and graduated from Galesburg High School in 1970. She later graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Elementary Education.  Chris married Steven Youngquist on April 5, 1985 in Galesburg, IL, they were married nearly 40 years. He passed away on January 30, 2025.  She was an elementary teacher for over 30 years, teaching in Galesburg at Steele Elementary School and the Monmouth-Roseville District, retiring in 2014. Chris loved spending time with her family, especially chasing around her grandchildren. She enjoyed being active and playing golf. She liked to cook for her family and enjoyed reading a good book.
